Ms. Johnson is the founding partner of the Law Offices of A. Michelle Johnson, P.L.L.C., and focuses her practice primarily on personal injury, wrongful death, mass tort litigation and probate.   Her previous experience has been in both criminal and civil litigation, respectively, in the public and private sector.


Most recently, she was employed as a Law Clerk and later as an Associate at the law firm of Grier, Copeland & Williams, P.C. (previously known as Grier & Copeland, P.C.) for more than five years.  During this time, she worked intricately on cases covering the areas of medical malpractice, wrongful death, employment discrimination, and auto negligence.  As a defense side firm, these cases involved defending physicians, hospitals, health care plans, governmental entities and insurance companies. 
 

Notably, during her time at Grier, Copeland & Williams, she served as a second chair to senior partner and co-counsel for the City of Detroit, Wilson Copeland, II during the highly publicized Whistleblower case, Gary Brown, et al. v. City of Detroit, et al.    

   
While in law school, she worked as a Special Assistant Prosecutor for the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office in the Juvenile Division, where she gained immeasurable courtroom experience conducting trials, pre-trials and arraignment proceedings.
 

Attorney Johnson is admitted to practice in the State of Michigan, as well as the U.S. Eastern District Court of Michigan.
